Hey everyone,

I applied through a humanitarian pathway in November 2023. I received my AOR in January 2025 and my pre-arrival letter in July 2025. Since I hadn’t received any updates, I contacted my MP in November 2025, and she shared the following information with me:

“According to IRCC, the file was approved on July 2025. IRCC states that the Ready for Visa (RFV) letter has not been sent yet. The COPR is valid until May 13, 2026.

My concern is that it’s now January 2026, and I still haven’t received the RFV. The timeline feels very tight given the COPR validity.

Is this situation normal? Does anyone have an idea of when I might receive the RFV?

Thanks guys.

***The program to which I applied is the Humanitarian pathway for Colombians, Haitians and Venezuelans. A public policy H&C pathway.

Was very confused by your post but looking back it was very important to specify that you applied to the Latin America and South American H&C program. What likely happened is that the quota for 2025 had been met so IRCC will start landing people who have been waiting and are in the queue waiting for final decision/PPR slowly month by month now that we are in 2026. The COPR expiry date is 1 year after your medical. IRCC will often extend the expiry date by a few months especially if you are relatively young and healthy or else you can be asked to redo your medical.

Thank you for your answer.
Do you think there is a chance that I could receive the Ready for Visa (RFV) letter before my medicals expire? My medical examination was completed on May 12, 2025. Based on the information provided through my MP’s inquiry, it appears that the only remaining step is the passport request.
