I am also based in Edmonton. My LPP was completed exactly a week after yours. Is your oath virtual or in-person? Do you know how they determine if it would be one or the other? I have a trip scheduled end of December and it would be great if my oath is after the 6th of Jan.
Well, people used to complain that Vancouver was the slowest, but mine got completed from start to finish in 5.5 months.
I received the official invitation email the same day the ceremony status was updated in the application tracker. It is for an in-person oath scheduled in January. In my application I initially chose to receive an electronic certificate, but since the ceremony would be held in person, I will be receiving the paper version, so unsure exactly how they determine the ceremony format. If you have a trip coming up soon, I highly recommend and echo what other members say here as well, getting in touch with the processing office to have your appointment rescheduled.
Could you share how easy it is to get urgent passport processing? Do you wait 2 business days after receiving your certificate?
When I went to the Passport Office (not Service Canada), they told me that since I was travelling 10 days from the day of application, I wasn't eligible for an urgent passport, so I had to opt for express pickup instead.
Also, I didn't wait 2 days. I received my certificate at 5 pm on Tuesday, and applied at 8.30 am the next day.
Thanks for the reply. I chose an e-certificate too. I'm guessing that's inconsequential at this point. If my application is mirroring yours, I reckon the oath date will be when I'm back in Canada. In that case, it's perfect and I have no need to reschedule.
you timeline and location pls! usually same day or at least 5 days before oath date
June 21 applied, Aug 18 AOR and Test Nov 13 and updated in tracker two days after, since then nothing until dec 8, when I checked in tracker it updated and thought it would take some time to get the email but nothing until today and scheduled on 30th Dec, this much I can see in tracker
Oath Update : Dec 15, 2025
Oath Ceremony : Jan 7, 2026 (Don't know if it is virtual/in-person, yet to receive the letter)
7 years of long journey coming to an end, I'll definitely miss logging onto trackers

Hey! My LPP was completed on Nov 14 and no updates ever since. What needs to be done or processed after the LPP? Is there any concerning reason it would take so long and still ongoing? I see many applicants are getting oath invites after couple of days after LPP. Any input would be appreciated.
