Hello! I applied for visitor visa for my parents on 18th October. Biometrics was completed on 23rd October. Biometrics was marked complete for my dad the very next day but not yet for my mom. Is this normal if you are applying for your parents together? No further updates since then. I also see the VISA processing time increasing every few weeks now. It's like 3+ months now but for some people it gets approved quickly.

Normal. Each person will have different processing times. They only applied a month ago not 3+ months ago. Processing may be faster depending on country and whether have US valid visa.

OK. Although I understand different processing times, it's just weird that both gave biometrics same day but only one is marked complete. The processing time was like 50 days when I applied so was expecting some movement. This application is from India. They don't have a current US Visa which they will in a couple months. They used to have one but I don't think it matters if they had one in the past. Thanks for your inputs.

Processing has been 3+ months in India for quite some time if processed manually. Processing times are often wrong and are also backwards looking. We are talking about the potential of visiting Canada for up to 5-7 years if parents can still purchase and do purchase supervisa insurance so processing time of a few months seems reasonable. Many parents are attempting to remain in Canada and not returning home so there is more scrutiny and refusals then there used to be when it comes to applications. The visit length is too long and has lead to the misinterpretation that you can move to Canada on a supervisa and not just visit with the expectation that you will have to return home after the 5-7 years or when you get sick and no longer qualify for supervisa insurance or you have so many preexisting conditions that you essentially have no insurance coverage even if you do pay for a policy. Many parents or their family members are also are unable to pay the heath system for the care they received that exceeded the 100k of coverage (not hard if you have a significant medical emergency) or receive emergency care for a preexisting condition that isn’t covered. This increasing problems for hospitals and many are already running deficits.

This is just visitor visa. Not the supervisa. I didn't know this was going on with supervisa that people just stay here. LOL. Well, Perhaps I'll give it another few months if not then perhaps I'll just apply supervisa. At that point they'll also have US visa so perhaps it'll be automated processing then. Cheers

So you applied for yourself with spouse and child not travelling with you? If you applying with child then apply alone if you want to visit Canada. Family ties to return are not your mother and sister, only spouse and children. Sister is not even immediate family member.

Yes applied with family(spouse and Kids).
It was a planned 2 week holiday with family now if I reapply alone they might cite that previously you applied along with family now you are visiting alone and could lead to another refusal?

So you were refused because you applied with spouse and kids and didn't provide enough supporting documents that you would all return. Coming as a family shows no family ties in India. Your sister and mother are not ties. You have to decide a) if your application is strong enough to apply on your own and b) explain why you wanted to come with your family but now taking a holiday without them.

What did you provide that you would all return? Do you all have strong travel history to UK, US, NZ or AUS? Why Canada?

I have provided all the supporting documents that includes NOC from employer along with salary slips and income tax returns and NOC from daughter's school bank statements, FD and net worth certificate.

Shall I reapply with a cover letter explaining the reason behind traveling with family to Canada?

please suggests

So what about your spouse? You are bringing your whole family to Canada so each person shows proof of return. Don't know what NOC for school or employer is. Plus you were refused with having no family ties because all family members are coming. Cover letter doesn't show ties to return if all are coming. You could apply as a couple is spouse has ties to return with job.
