Hello all!
I am not currently residing in Canada, but I am planning to apply for Express Entry. Based on my professional experience, I believe that NOC 32120 (Medical Laboratory Technologist) most accurately reflects my work history. However, my academic background is in Microbiology, not in Medical Laboratory Science or Technology, and I am concerned that this discrepancy may pose an issue.
Would IRCC potentially reject my application on this basis? My job responsibilities correspond closely with the lead statement and main duties outlined under NOC 32120, though my educational background aligns more closely with NOC 21110 (Biologists and related scientists).
I understand that I will need to obtain certification and licensing in Canada before being able to practice as a Medical Laboratory Technologist, but my intention is to pursue these requirements after obtaining permanent residence.
Has anyone had experience applying under similar circumstances? Is it permissible to select the NOC of a regulated profession prior to receiving Canadian certification?
Thank you in advance for your guidance and insights
