Received GCMS notes yesterday (Nov 4th) after submitting request through ATIP (Privacy Act) on Oct 5th.

A bit dense, but looks like this most recent note (that aligns with my last ghost update date) might be the holdup on the app:

Referred to Level 2 for review - ICES Discrepancy

Anyone know what ICES Discrepancy is?

In my quick look for info - your citizenship application was escalated from a standard (Level-1) processing officer to a senior (Level-2) officer because something in your identity or residency verification didn’t match cleanly in ICES (Identity Confirmation & Enhanced Screening system).

Might be a misspelling, variation of something on a document that they just want to clear up.

You could maybe (I have no experience here - so grain of salt stuff) reach out to IRCC and note that you saw that in your GCMS notes - and if you're trying to be proactive and help them wth anything they might need from you to clear that up?

I see you’re from BC — are you in IT by any chance? If so, have you ever done an international credential evaluation through BCIT? I believe IRCC has designated BCIT as the agency for credential assessments. I think ICES stands for International Credential Evaluation Service. There might be some issues with that, as your notes mention “referred to Level 2.” As Aaron suggested, it might be better to be proactive and contact them directly to sort it out as soon as possible, rather than waiting for who knows how many months for IRCC to get back to you.
