Hi, I applied for my work permit in May. After applying, I delivered a baby. Now I’m waiting for it to get approved because I urgently need to travel to my home country with my baby. Can anyone tell me how much more time it might take? Has anyone else who applied in May received approval yet?

Processing is 7-8 months according to current processing times. If you have a valid TRV then you can return even if not approved. But cannot work unless PGWP.

No I don’t have TRV it’s expired on 3 June.

Once my work permit is approved, can I travel to my home country and then apply for a TRV from there to return to Canada? Because TRV approval also takes a long time.

You can but take a chance it could be refused. You have to apply and show ties to return because you are a temporary worker.
