Hi,
I have a question for this situation
What happens if parents get passport request when they are visiting Canada in visitor visa?
I read somewhere regarding virtual landing but not sure how does it work if someone can give the steps what to do it will be great

We were waiting for passport request since February but didnt receive any communication since then

If your parents visit Canada you should inform IRCC and they would qualify for eCOPR.

Hi all,

Has anyone on recent days received passport back after stamping from Delhi IRCC office? I am looking to understand the time it is taking these days for passpotrs to arrive back after submission. I submitted on 15th Sept and still waiting. Thank you.

Hi.. Do you know the average processing time ? My parents are in Canada, we submitted all the documents including Police clearances as of June 2025. Application was submitted in Aug 2024. Still wating for a response...

Hi. My parents received their PR visas stamped on 27th September in Delhi. My father died yesterday. I know I have to inform IRCC. Does anyone know what happens next? Will my mother have to get her visa reissued, even though she was principal applicant?

Hi,

I am so sorry for your loss. May god give you and your family the strength to go through this difficult time. I have been through the exact same situation where my dad passed away after visa stamping but before landing. I have been through this process during past two months and can guide you on what to expect.

If you mom is the principal applicant then I believe nothing is required. Just infomr them and wait for their response before flying.

You will have to inform IRCC through webform as soon as possible. If your dad the principal applicant? a new application will be created under your mom's name. They will ask for the death certificate, and a new IMM008 and IMM1344. The death certificate in my case was received about two weeks late so I used the cremation ground receipt (got is translated from a govt. authorised translator) for initial report through webform along with a letter of explanation.. they asked for above documents and death certificate. I sent the same through webform as soon as I received it along with their request letter and within 5 days I received information that a new application number has been assigned to us with my mom as principal applicant. Use this app number to link in gc key login. Five days after the generation of aplication number, we received the new PPR. We submitted it to VFS Global and received our passports back today. The passport had a new VISA and new COPR was issued. The whole process took about 2 months. As long as the medicals are not expiring soon (One year validity); nothing else will be required.

Note: I am not an authorised representative on the file but they entertained initial commnunication with me via the webform. After linking the file in GC key; it was direct commincation through account.

Hello everyone,

I submitted my application in 2025, and my family size is 6. My question is regarding the income requirement — according to IRCC, my minimum necessary income should be:

  • 2022: $82,259
  • 2023: $85,020
  • 2024: $90,784

When calculating the Minimum Necessary Income (MNI) + 30%, do I need to add 30% for each year (for example, $82,259 + 30%)?

I understand that some people here received their approvals in 2024 — could you please confirm whether meeting the income listed on the IRCC website is sufficient, or if I need to include the additional 30%?

Thank you!

No need to add 30%
