Hello Mo,

I was wondering if you submitted the urgent processing request and managed to expedite your application. I am on a similar situation and have no clues what to do. I am tired of getting automated responses on the web forum. I would appreciate any guidance.
Never followed through with the application.

In a way, I'm kind of envious. This is a category of expediting that (almost) could never apply to me - I'd love to have the ability to ask for my Canadian citizenship app to be expedited so I can legally work in the US (I in fact have one such offer in hand). A shame because I'd love to be the experimental canary here (and report back with an ancdeote on whether or not IRCC will actually expedite for this reason).

Just received a respond. I am back in the queue. They will contact me with rescheduled date after my come back from the trip.
Just FYI: "Please note that any request to postpone ceremony for a period greater than 3 months will require supervisor approval."
From original message.
Hey did u postpone your oath? What reason did u give..did u give them an expected written date?? I wanna postpone it till Jan 2026 at least..mine oath is on Oct 15? Do we have to provide supporting documents for the reasons?

Today I took the citizenship oath. The ceremony was really special and it felt so nice to become a new Canadian alongside others in my community. It was especially cool to see families with kids becoming citizens!

Wishing for a speedy end of your applications for those of you in the end stages. Thank you to everyone here for keeping me sane and also keeping me company in the wait. Might be back when I apply for a passport (not imminent - no travel plans yet) but for now - cheers and bonne chance :)

(PS, do practice the French* oath and bilingual anthem for predominantly English ceremonies! You might be asked to do the oath in both languages if you can)
