Hi @Miss bee

I am June 2024 applicant (non EE, AB PNP) with my spouse (I'm the main applicant, we both are in Canada) and passed biometrics in Nov 2024, medical Feb 2025, submitted 3 RL as required (employment, military, schedule A-travel history, last was requested and submitted in June 2024) received PAL in May 2025. Since June it's all quiet and background check continues, as I can see the tracker (no access to application screen as I use representative, on tracker it says medical and biometrics passed, background continues, eligibility not started). Also requested GCMS notes but after 60 days still no response. Read above about EE and also have a friend who received her PR through EE faster than me. It made me think, does it worth to make another application through EE at this point as there would be a chance that it comes earlier? Or, as I've been waiting for 15 months now, there's no point to make another application? Your kind opinion would be appreciated

I understand how frustrating the wait can feel, especially when you see others receiving their PR faster through Express Entry. Since you are already quite far along in your Provincial Nominee Program application — with biometrics, medicals, multiple document requests, and a Pre-Arrival Letter already issued — your file is clearly progressing, even if the tracker still shows “eligibility not started.” In reality, IRCC often updates statuses in batches, so your eligibility may already be under review in the background. While it is technically possible to create an Express Entry profile and submit another application if you qualify, it may not necessarily speed things up, especially since PNP applications typically take longer than EE and you are already about 15 months in, which is close to the average processing range. Submitting another application could mean duplicate fees, more paperwork, and the risk of one application being withdrawn once the other is finalized. Since you have passed most of the major stages, it may be more practical to stay the course with your current PNP application unless you have a very strong EE score and anticipate a significantly faster outcome.

@Miss bee thank you for your detailed and informative answer, honestly appreciated. Your answer is way more helpful than IRCC Waiting is certainly frustrating and I imagine many others are hoping for the same outcome that if there's any way to speed up the process. Wishing honest patience to everyone..

@Miss bee I have another question on job change. I got nominated through the OINP - masters stream (no job offer required) and upon looking at my nomination it cleary says ‘No’ under restrictions on employment. I have an opportunity for working remotely for a US based company, but the structure of my payroll will be the same as per canadian taxes and deductions. Would this change in employment have any impact on my PR application? (i submitted by application in Nov. last year and have received my AOR ) I am just feeling anxious about this change as I really want the remote job. If I submit enough funds in my bank account and update ircc simultaneously about my employment change to this remote job, would that be ok? The reason for this would be previously I used my payslips and job offer letter as proof of funds. Please advise.

No, don't do that. It's not safe to do that. I would advise you to stick to same job and employer. Changing jobs are challenging and can screw up your application through PNP PR application.

Hello everyone,
Is it normal to recieve PAL before medical?
Applied non express entry pr under oinp fsw, got AOR and BIL in April, and today I got PAL but I haven’t received any medical request.
I was just wondering if this is normal

I believe it is, you can receive it anytime, as far as i know, once your eligibility is actually completed on the background

Hi @Miss bee
I applied in July 2024, and I got an background completed on May 13 2025. and Final Decision updated on the same date. and even the COPR is also available.
I called once and was informed that every check is completed. However, until now I have not received P1 or any update.
Is there something wrong with my application? Is there something I could do to check whether my application is delayed?
Thank you.

Your application has already gone through all the major steps, including background checks, final decision, and even the issuance of the COPR, which is the final approval document. If your COPR is already available in your online account, that generally means your application is not delayed, and there is no issue with it. Sometimes, applicants do not receive a portal 1 (P1) email if they already have the COPR generated, or the communication may simply take a bit of extra time to be sent out. Since you already called IRCC and were told that all checks are completed, there is no indication of a problem. At this point, the best step would be to monitor your account regularly, ensure you check your email—including your spam or junk folders—for any correspondence from IRCC, and if a long period passes with no update (for example, more than a few weeks), you could consider raising a webform inquiry for reassurance.

@Miss bee I got my PAL & background check completed on April 3rd 2025 and haven't heard anything since then. My medical and COPR details on tracker already expired on 18th Sep 2025. I am trying to be patient and hope for the best but then I see most of the people who applied a lot later then me already received their PR card. I am calling IRCC on monthly basis and I am hearing same answer that your application is under process and we will contact you. I have also contacted MP and now he is not responding as well. Is there anything I can do ?

Hello @Miss bee ,

I submitted my application through the OINP Express Entry – International Student Stream (Employer Job Offer). At the time of applying, I was working two jobs: one with the employer supporting my application, and another just for extra income. I have since quit the extra job. Do I need to notify IRCC about this change?
