They been really slow they moved till 9 March only and may be they started now we got one update yesterday
agree. For now, I am looking for my ATIP notes because I called them a couple of days ago and they told me my security is still pending. I’ve seen updates from people who said they got theirs in just 19 days, and I almost submitted a request, but then I remembered the fake accounts

Reactions: PR waiting
It has been more than three months and I haven’t received my GCMS notes, while a couple of people received theirs in less than a month. Has anyone else been waiting more than two months without getting them? Thanks.
Yeah I noticed that it takes long time recently, and even when I requested it I didn’t expect to have it sooner. I know my friend too he applied for it and received it within three weeks, he got it a week before me.

Applied in quebec but they recently officially recognized me as out of quebec
Sorry what do you mean they recognized you as out if quebec? Did you move out of quebec? Becouse I'm considering move to alberta I've been waiting since October 2022 for my pr...would moving out of quebec speed up the process?

Permanent residence

Our performance

We made 298,500 decisions and welcomed 276,900 new permanent residents from January 1 to August 31, 2025.

A couple of things to note in relation to your case:
• The numbers you see (298,500 PR decisions, 276,900 new PRs from Jan–Aug 2025) are overall totals across all immigration streams, not just protected persons.
• The backlog charts mainly focus on economic classes (Express Entry, PNP), spousal sponsorships, and citizenship, since those are the biggest categories. Protected person PR isn’t broken out separately in these public reports.
• For protected persons, IRCC doesn’t manage through a fixed “quota” the way they do with economic immigration. Canada has a legal obligation to land people who’ve been granted protection. That’s why even if they slow down certain streams to stay within the Immigration Levels Plan, they continue finalizing protected person cases throughout the year.

This is data too.

Yeah I agree with you, those big numbers are mostly about the economic streams. But in the Immigration Levels Plan IRCC still puts a target for protected persons too 20k this year. maybe they will 22-25k, who knows. So they also try to stick close to those targets when they’re finalizing cases. At the end of the day, their total target for this year is 395k.

Just imagine if 901,800 PR cases are only for economic streams, how many submitted extra cases are there for protected, H&C, or other refugee streams? 100–300k? Who knows. Roughly if there are 1- 1.3M total PR applicants for a 400k yearly target, you can see how huge the numbers are.
