My security started 05 march 2025

Sometime It takes longer when u live in gulf countries or from there. Specially Saudi doesn’t give security clearance and had to do with third party.

Do you mean the country of origin should give the security clearance? That doesn’t make sense, especially if someone has issues with their country of origin—for political reasons or because they hold a different ideology.

So they asked me for police clearance from two different countries last year. (Countries that I used to live at before) My security clearance will still be an issue?

No it’s not criminality, they do by themselves too it’s called security

By the way, they have already done that, and it was a comprehensive screening when we applied for protected status. I don't see why they redo it again.

To be honest, I don’t know why they are doing it again. I think it’s because it expired.

My MP said:
As per IRCC, all assessments have passed on your file except the security assessment. There is a note from Aug 26, 2025 that your file is still pending the security assessment. As this process is conducted by third party partners, the IRCC is limited in what can be done when they are waiting on this assessment to complete.

My security started march, how long would it take? Been more than 6 months

You have to account for time you were waiting in a queue for your file to be processed and some countries are better and faster with sharing information with Canada than others.

I got an update from my MP, saying this. March 17.

Our office has received an update on your file, 19 September 2025:

PR application all steps completed
Awaiting final decision
Next step is Pre-arrival email which has not yet been sent
Work permit application being processed:
Eligibility: Passed
Criminality: Passed
Application is good standing

We will continue to monitor your application and share any further updates as they become available. At this stage, no action is required from you.
