Hi all,

I had a question regarding my relative’s situation. She's a veterinarian with many years of foreign experience. Unfortunately, her visitor visa and study permit applications have been rejected multiple times (three in total), even though she had a strong admission offer last year.

She’s now considering applying through Express Entry to try a different route. Is this something she can consider, or would it be difficult given her previous refusals?

She has extensive foreign work experience, and we were wondering if she might qualify under the category-based selection for healthcare professionals.

Thanks!

She can apply for PR. Whether she is selected will depend on how many points she has. She will need to declare all refusals in her PR application.

Thanks for your reply @scylla

Also, can I ask — is the rumor about the PR CEC being stopped true, or is it just BS? I’m hearing a lot about Canada stopping the CEC. Is that incorrect? The next one is supposed to be next month, right? Since the last one was yesterday.

Is she licensed to work in Canada as a vet? Is there a pathway to licensing and is she working on getting licensed? How old is she?
