Hello everyone,

I applied for a Canada visitor visa on June 4, 2025, through the new portal.

Since I had already given biometrics in 2022, I didn’t need to do them again.

My application is still in background check, and today marks 60 days. I’m applying from India to visit family and friends.

Should I just keep waiting?

I saw online that many people haven’t received proper updates, even after raising a webform. I don’t want to seem desperate by flooding the system, but I’m posting here to see if others are in the same situation and if it's worth sending a webform now.

I’m not in a hurry, but I do need to visit Germany in the next 2 months, so I’m trying to plan ahead.

Also, if I travel to another country, can I still submit my passport from there if the visa gets approved?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

You are experiencing normal processing time so just wait. If you have to travel to Germany would not submit your passport if within 5-6 weeks if you get approval out of concern you may not get your passport back in time. How long will you be in Germany?

@canuck78 I had planned for August end of the month but I can now move to September. I plan to travel Germany for 6 weeks.

If approved you can always inform IRCC of your travel plans with proof and ask for a delay when it comes to submitting your passport.

Thank you will do that. There has been no update yet. should I consider raising a webform? @canuck78

You will only add to delays by applying from a foreign country.

@canuck78 that being said, isn't it past 41 days. I applied June 04 2025. previously you mentioned, it is still under normal processing times. It doesn't add up.
Since you have multiple rejections in the past, it's normal for your application to not be processed within the standard processing times.
