Hello,

Finally received ITA for my parents on July 28th from the 2020 intake! My parents are now 90 and 81 years old respectively. Do they need to give Biometrics? When I checked this in the IRCC tool it mentions: "If you’re between 14 and 79 years old, you need to give your fingerprints and photo for all permanent resident applications,.." Does this mean no biometrics for my parents?

The fee is CAD 1,205 for primary applicant and CAD 1,210 for spouse - right?

Thanks,

My dad was diagnosised cancer 4 years ago. He is still under treatment as of today. I feel like getting medical exam pass is uncertain.

My father is finical capable to support his medical needs and he will be likely traveling to his home cointry for cancer treatment. Would that impact the medical exam result?

If he fails the medical exam, does that mean the whole application will be rejected? (ie, my mother)

Hi everyone,

I submitted my interest to sponsor my mother under the Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship Program back in October 2020. My father passed away many years ago, so my application only includes my mother.

Despite multiple draws since 2020, I haven’t received an invitation to apply, and I’m starting to wonder if anyone in a similar situation (with only one parent listed) has been selected.

If you’ve applied with a single parent — or know someone who has — and received an invitation to apply, could you please share your experience? It would help me understand whether single-parent applications are being selected in the pool.

Thank you.

I finally got the invite for my mother this year. She is widowed. I dont think there is any criteria for selection on that basis.

The draw is random. Number of parents in the application or number of dependents do not affect if your interest to sponsor is being invited.

We did received an invite few years ago. Only mother was in the application.

He needs to pass the medical exam. If he is in remission, he could pass medical.
Yes. the whole family (both parents and dependents (if any)) need to pass medical for the application to be approved.

I've lost the screenshot of the original Interest to Sponsor form I filled and can’t recall which Canadian document of status I used (passport, citizenship certificate, etc.).

Is there a way to retrieve this information? Would calling IRCC help? Or should I just attach both passport and citizenship certificate in the application?

i did a lot of search, but doesn’t seems we can find the original record… but, I just watched a YouTube video on how to complete the application in the online portal. There is a section of for you to attach additional supporting documents and I would just attach all the possible documents so that IRCC can find the right one. Best luck to us all!
