My visa for PR has been approved. Can I use this visa to stop over in the United States to fly to Canada?

Question: I'm traveling to Canada and need to make a stopover in the United States. I have a Canadian visa (for residency there). With that visa, can I make a stopover and fly to the United States? I'm not planning to leave the airport, just take my Air Canada flight.

Please, I look forward to your prompt response.

Best regards.

Ask on a US immigration forum. You need a transit.
I'm a bit late but if OP still can use some help - or for future lurkers who have the same question - I'd recommend asking on https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/143-tourist-visas/ or https://www.immihelp.com/forum/usa-visitors-visa specifically, these seem to have lots of activity and good advice.
You need a regular visitor visa to enter the USA
Correct. As per https://www.tripadvisor.ca/ShowTopi..._airport_on_a_C1_transit_visa-Air_Travel.html a transit visa won't let you leave the airport. Fortunately, OP doesn't need to do so, so a transit visa would suffice.
USA stopped issuing transit visas
Source?

I did some checking, but didn't see any news articles announcing this. (I google'd for "usa stops issuing transit visas" if you wanna double check my search terms.)

Furthermore reading https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/other-visa-categories/transit.html suggests that one can still apply for these. Ditto on https://it.usembassy.gov/visas/niv/c1/ and the wizard still has the C1 transit visa as an option as well, https://common.usembassy.gov/en/c1-visa/

In fact the trip advisor link above is fairly recent, so it implies that the US is still issuing these visas since the OP's friend there got one.
