So it is assumed that they are still working on February Applications. This takes March applicants to 29 months and April applicants probably to 30 months. Since we have exceeded the current estimated processing times of 28 months, I suggest everyone reach out to their MPs and request status updates.

Hi. May 30th, 2023 applicant here. MP office back to me today and still same things. Eligibility and criminality passed. Medical expired and security has not started yet and 3rd party does it. Ircc has no control on it. That’s all.

how can I contact MP? Is he or she the representative of my city? do you think that they can expedite the process, or do they just ask for information?

Yes your MP represents your area and can contact IRCC on your behalf but they can’t expedite the process just request status updates. I’ve tried several times; they only get the latest update from IRCC no real effect only a mandamus application can push direct action.

If you call IRCC yourself I think you can get more information than the MP’s office.

If you call IRCC yourself I think you can get more information than the MP’s office.

Jan 5, 2023 ON applicant, security still under process because my wife worked for an embassy.

now made me wonder for my case, when my MP told me my case will take to 49 months... crazy... I also worked for my country's government job.

Can someone please help me? I am waiting for 43 months for my PR as a protected person, I changed my province in between(from Ontario to Quebec). I got a ghost update in last March(it showed that my profile changed/updated) but didn’t get any news after that. I got another ghost update today, it showed the same thing(profile updated/changed) but now background check options say not applicable, I am really confused right now as I don’t know what is happening. Here is the full status of my application:

Don’t worry. It means that some of your background checks have passed and some of them haven’t started. It has happened with me.

What the hell is going on with IRCC? Only 2–3 PR cases finalized in weeks, while many of us are stuck waiting final decision despite passing all assessments more than 6 months ago.
