Hello everyone: My husband is a Canadian citizen currently studying in Quebec, but he files his taxes from his hometown in Manitoba. I’m living in Toronto on a valid Post-Graduation Work Permit. We’re planning to apply for spousal sponsorship but we’re confused about which province we should apply under.
Should we go through Quebec’s sponsorship process, or the federal one (since I’m living in Ontario and he’s not a Quebec resident for tax purposes)?

After the initial submission of our application, IRCC has now requested additional updated proof of relationship such as photographs, records of visits, communication and social media posts.
Can anyone please advise how many screenshots or pages we should provide?
It’s an outland application and we have about six months of online communication like whatapp audio and vcall+ FB Posts history now since the original submission in January 2025.
The sponsor has not visited during this period.

Using your visitor visa by travelling to Canada won't 'shift' you onto the inland timeline.
Other than that, up to you.
Once u get passport request For PR in India, we need to submit the passport and the applicant needs to be in India to do that.
its just twice the travel. So if I'm expecting Passport request soon for PR. Its rather best to wait 1 more month to get the PR done before travelling to Canada. Its just we cant predict IRCC on how long they l take to do the background check - it can be completed in 3 days or 3 months
No, applicants (even outland applicants) can be 'landed' virtually in Canada, without requiring travel back to home country.* The process is to inform IRCC of change of address to Canada when the principal applicant arrives in Canada.
*IRCC can require personal interview in home country. Interviews are fairly rare, however, and since covid, more frequently done by zoom. I do not know if in-person ones are happening more now, not that many interviews by which to judge. (If others have more info, of course...)
Apart from it not being true that one has to travel twice (see above): it's up to you.
I don't have all the details on your application - from your post history it looks like you applied in April? Just from pure averages - my impression from following spousal apps, but not all that closely - that puts you at 3-5 months. Getting apps completed in less than six months is fast, and mostly happens only in very straightforward cases from countries with very good criminal security cooperation (USA/Five Eyes/NATO/EU - very roughly, and my imperfect description). In other words, not India.
By pure somewhat-informed speculation: that likely means 2-10 months remaining, and two would be on the short end. You decide.
You can land virtually, but that would mean you'd have already probably prepped any belongings and things that you know you want to eventually bring with you. Also, from what I've seen, it does take longer to shift to landing virtually (not inland processing times, but you have to do p1, p2, ecopr then). It can lengthen things slightly, and maybe you could inquire from others who did do this process. As an added note, I have also seen a lot of applications from India moving fast, despite not being part of the five eyes, nato, etc. Obviously, can depend on personal circumstances, no matter where the applicant is from. This is just what I've read and heard, but I am not an expert.

Feb 24th: Application submitted
Mar 25th: AOR issued
June 15th: Eligibility passed
July 20th: Work Permit issued
Many people I know got requested for Medical + Biometrics 1 month after they got AOR and way before they got their WP, but my partner has not gotten this request !?!? Anyone in the same boat?

when did you applied for wp? was it sowp? I applied wp without aor apr 10 - got implied status but no actual wp yet
25th of March 2025 and yes it is sowp. You could apply for WP without AOR? did you get AOR now? Request for Biometrics and health examination?
yes cause my pgwp was expiring - aor takes 1 month so... yes AOR Jun 05 . biometrics done . no medical required as it was done years back. waiting for background and copr portal email! webform was sent with AOR attached for sowp

I think Quebec paused spousal sponsorship applications until July 2026I know its not the right place but ı couldn't find it anywhere so I am desperate
I am not asking this ı know it stopped.I am asking for getting married.we need that paper
