Ok, I didn’t see the medical request on your timeline. So, I was wondering. Did you receive a request for medicals or did you do it upfront? Appreciate your response.
Oh yes, received a request for it a week ago.

On a related note, I had raised a web form for a general inquiry since the medical request had not come even after a few weeks of the Sponsor Eligibility Passed, but happened to receive the request around that same time (coincidence maybe).

Great, thank you. Wishing you smooth and fast processing of your application.

How do they send the sponsor eligibility letter via email to the sponsor? Is this different from eligibility on the dependent child acct?

The answer to your first question seems to be in your question itself - they do send an email to the sponsor indicating they has been found eligible. This also eventually reflects in the Sponsor's Application Status Tracker account as an update.

It is different from the eligibility of the principal applicant (PA,dependent child in this case), which is determined later as the application moves forward. The status of that would reflect in the PA's status tracker & GC Key account for the application.

Hope that helps.

Hi everyone

We submitted the application to sponsor our daughter who is already in Canada.
We submitted the application on 16 June 2025 and Yesterday 16 July 2025 the application was rejected and we did not receive the AOR because of the following reasons.

Consent and Declaration
• A parent or legal guardian must sign on behalf of a dependent child under the age of 18
when a signature for this person is required. - My spouse was sponsoring her. She signed in that place but gave our daughter's name instead of her.

Application to Sponsor, Sponsorship Agreement and Undertaking (IMM 1344)
• A parent or legal guardian must sign on behalf of a dependent child under the age of 18
when a signature for this person is required. - My spouse was sponsoring her. She signed in that place but gave our daughter's name instead of her.

Proof of Canadian Status
The following identity documents have not been included or do not meet the requirements for
processing:
• Your Permanent Resident Card (both sides) - We gave our COPR

We are again preparing to apply. Just wanted to know from you, we have the proof of previous payment but as the application was not processed can we use the previous proof of payment in this case ?

Please guide us.

Filing on behalf of my parents, who are sponsoring my eligible siblings. I am their representative.

In both cases your spouse should enter HER name (the person taking legal responsibility for 'signing' for the minor's name must be entered, not the minor's).

Do you have the PR card to include?

yes, you can use the previous receipt.

You can use the same payment receipt for sending the new application.

You will need your PR card to proof your Canadian Status. If you meet your RO, you need to use your valid PR card. If you don't, you will need to wait till you meet RO, apply for a PR card and then sponsor her.
