Hi there, a bit of background: I received an ITA under the international student stream and have submitted my application. I started full time in May and applied in the most recent june draw. I have a 2 part question:
1. My work hours are reducing temporarily from October to December to 15 hrs weekly due to some issue, but I'll be back to full time (37 hours) in the end of December. Should i inform OINP of this temporary change? I can get a letter from my employer stating that I'll be back to full time at a specified date if needed.
2. If I take a vacation or unpaid time off from my job does that make any difference? I did not claim any points for experience or time worked already with the employer. So, wasnt sure.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Amplifying the above. Did anyone else have the same situation? Should I reach out to OINP and let them know that there is a temporary change?

I dont think you should notifiy OINP.
  • one you are still employed with the same employer.
  • 2 you have already met the requirements of OINP- full time hours and pay. They wont be asking for those again. If for some reason they do, explain then.
  • as for paid time off. it wont affect anything. I did take some myself when my application was being processed and planning to take some again in august during processing of my PR application.

Beg to disagree...

You should always inform Ontario Immigration if there are any changes to your employment, including conditions. The JOIS is a job offer stream and has specific conditions.

You don't want this biting you back in the future.

Just my opinion, though. Everyone is free to do as they wish.
