Hi, I have a Question about the PR card for the new immigrants . My parents just arrived in Canada as a PR. DO I need to apply for the PR card or does IRCC automatically sends the first PR card in few days .
It should be mailed to the address they provided.

Received portal 1 email May 1,2025 and portal 2 email May 21 2025
We have the same timeline for P1 and P2. How is it so far?

PR cards are mailed to address which you provide at time of landing. It takes around 6 weeks to get them.
I have a question. When your parents landed, were they asked about forms for Accompanying good and Good to follow along with list of items?

yes, they asked about things /items to follow, address nothing more
My parents were not even asked about items to follow. Only address. They actually had these forms filled but no one asked them, they were not sure who to give these forms, so they left without getting these forms stamped. Is it hit and miss to ask these forms by officer? This was last year. They are travelling again this year. Can they show the last year's forms and get them stamped?

Yes the visa is valid until the end of July 2025. I am planning on taking them to the US for a week and come back in June.

Would not suggest doing this. It is a much better idea to apply for a visitor record. Visitors are much more likely to be denied entry or being given a less than 6 month visit length when trying to leave and reenter Canada versus applying for a visitor record. The processing time alone for a visitor record is months.

Quick question guys,
PGP-23 Application is in progress (background check) is it good idea to apply for super visa or visitor visa at this stage? If yes what will be the processing time from India?

They are both independent. If your parents want to visit you they can always apply but they can’t move to Canada until they receive COPR.

Thanks for the update. I didn't end up applying for notes, but I guess I can assume the same. Seems like some heavy vetting is going on. Fingers crossed for both you, and I :)
