This I believe applies for most of the stream other than 2 streams indicated below.

BC PNP allocation reduced for 2025

The federal government has confirmed B.C.’s allocation of provincial nominees for 2025 is 4,000. This is a 50% reduction from 2024.

The BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) is planning how to use the program in 2025 due to the reduced allocation. This will determine operational matters such as invitations to apply (ITAs) and the opening of the student streams.

The Health Authority and Entrepreneur streams will remain open.

BC PNP processing times are expected to increase for the rest of the year due to significantly reduced nominations allotted to B.C. by the federal government.

HI All, One Question- appreciate your help in advance.

I received the BCPNP invitation to apply. while filling the application it ask about my dependent child information.

Background:- I am not in touch with my wife since last 7 years and don't know her whereabout. I filed for divorce in 2024 ( still in process- other party status unknown).

Question:- 1. should i still declare about my child given i have no ideas where my child is.
2. If yes, then what should i fill in "Address section" of dependent child information.

May 8, 2025

On May 8, 2025, the BC PNP issued invitations to apply to 94 candidates who will create high economic impact in BC. Invitations were issued based on:
  • Minimum wage of $105/hr, currently working full-time in BC for the supporting employer, and the job offer is NOC TEER 0 or 1 (47 candidates), or
  • A minimum score of 150 points (47 candidates)
Invitations to apply are issued to qualified registrations received before the date of the draw.

Future high economic impact invitations to apply may be based on different factors. Please refer to section 7.3(a) of the Skills Immigration Program Guide.

British Columbia really needs to invite at least 12,000 people in 2025. Mark Carney and his government must take action on this. The same applies to Ontario and other provinces. Why are they issuing 4,000 to 7,000 invitations per draw mainly for French-speaking applicants, but only 4,000 invitations for the entire year of 2025 in British Columbia, same condition to Ontario and other provinces ? Who made this unfair decision that restricts the provinces? It's disappointing to see political decisions being made disaster impact of people's lives and futures.

Provincial Allocations – Who’s Negotiating & Receiving More?

  • New Brunswick successfully negotiated an additional 1,500 nomination spots, bringing its 2025 PNP total to 4,250—even surpassing BC’s limit of 4,000 immigrationnewscanada.ca+15cicnews.com+15soscip.org+15. They agreed to welcome asylum claimants in exchange.
  • Newfoundland & Labrador also regained spots earlier in 2025, raising their total to 2,525 aaracanada.com+7cicnews.com+7immicalculator.com+7.
  • Other provinces, including Ontario and Saskatchewan, are also actively lobbying IRCC to restore or partially restore cuts to their PNP quotas .

What This Means for BC

Will BC PNP Array Return to “Normal”?

  • The New Brunswick deal shows that provincial advocacy can succeed, especially by offering alternatives like asylum claimant intake.
  • BC, facing similar labour shortages, is likely to push for more allocations, though we haven’t seen it report success yet.
  • Ongoing developments in Atlantic provinces suggest a new precedent—if BC follows suit, it could gain momentum:

Has anyone received the invitation to apply from BC PNP under this invite (94 Candidates)?

Or is there any other thread related to these 94 invites?? If anyone can share the timeline if they have applied under the high‑economic‑impact roles.

I don't believe those individuals are actually participating in the forums—it seemed more like a show. If someone has that level of salary or 150 points, they likely already qualified for permanent residence through Express Entry and wouldn’t have needed BC PNP. It feels like a waste of valuable provincial nominations just to retain people who would have stayed in BC regardless.

Not all qualified for express entry from that pool due to age factor..

Yes, some individual may have low score in the Federal Express entry but higher score in BC PNP due to their work experience or TEER 0/1 job in BC.
Looking forward to see someone's experience if they got the invite under high‑economic‑impact roles on 8th May and how they are progressing.

I was aware of the age factor and have been affected by it under the current conditions. I didn’t want to mention fake salaries or contracts, so I chose to explain things in an academic way! I'm quite certain that BC PNP did not operate efficiently last year, delay, bad usage of allocations and etc. so we're already seeing the consequences in 2025 and 2026. One contributing factor was the misuse of the system by individuals and companies.
