I was dating my partner in 2021 but there was no option to put in a relationship during that period in the study permit canada so i selected single option but my visa was refused. Now my partner is applying for PR spouse sponsorship canada i have to describe my relationship which is starting 2021. So will this be a problem? Do we have mention dating relationship to IRCC?

As long as you were not common law there is no need to mention someone you are dating.

Thank you for your response. I was just confused because now the forms shows marital status option as unknown, conjugal etc but we were just dating he came to meet me in my home country once during that period. So selecting single was the right option? It will not be interpreted as misinterpretion?

Yes you would be considered as single as long as you had not lived together for a continuous year.
