Did you read my full post? I already answered this question. The stricter requirements were introduced by Conservatives and reversed by Liberals. The Liberals have been voted back in.

I was just wondering what stricter requirements looked like. Other than 4 out of 6 years which everyone knows about.

An example would be the intent to reside.
That would save us from the daily "can I apply then leave Canada" threads from people that don't take the time to check the forum before asking, but it was absolutely more restrictive than the current situation.

Oh okay. It's possible that the new lib government will introduce stricter requirements too. But I think they'll go after temporary residents and express entry first.

I think most of this discussion is not very useful, in that there are no obvious signals from new government (during campaign) that stricter requirements are needed. They have other priorities in the immigration space (I think). And you're right that temp residents and volume of new immigration are going to be up there in terms of priorities.

Most obvious on citizenship is they have to deal with the second-gen citizenship issue, and that's going to be somewhat controversial.

Now, I don't exclude that they could try and toss something in there, but I doubt it - or at least no big changes.

If they did, they might try and do by processing rather than legislation, and I echo that there might be some attempt to limit the 'file-and-flee' citizenship apps - where the applicants don't even remain in Canada during the citizenship process - that others have referred to here. (I'm a tiny bit skeptical that this will prove as easy as some think - but I'd still support, personally, esp compared to other 'strictness' measures.)
