So my husband is sponsoring and being ask about Employment history for the past 5 years. He has not been employed or been self employed and only living on his pensions. Such as military pens, old age pension and Canada pension. on form im5532 there is a section asking about employment history and says "if you are unemployed explain how you supported yourself". Should we write our explanation on the from itself or it has to be on a separate paper (if its a separate is there a particular form we need to use?). Hope you can help us thanks :).

here is the image link of the part about employment history

It's your decision - if you feel more information is needed, then attach a letter of explanation.

Note, if his income is sufficient, there's nothing unusual or odd about either being self-employed (that is employment), and he can just write 'retired.'
