You can apply anytime you want. There is no rule regarding it .
So I can apply for bridging open work permit just 30 days before my post graduate work permit expires.
You can apply anytime you want. There is no rule regarding it .
flagpoling is considered as recent entry rightYes you should mention your recent entry details when replying to portal 2 email.
Yes if you have non express entry application, you can create new profile and apply for express entry under CEC or other categories. If you get invited you can apply for express entry as well . Note you have to pay fees agains and provide all documentation again for express entry application.
thank you for your responsedo not get panic. you will probably get it in 3-4 months. max 5 months
thank you for your detailed response, I feel more relaxed now. I hope for a favorable response from IRCCThe processing time at the time of your application (11 months) was just an estimate based on past cases, and it isn’t a guarantee. If IRCC has now updated the estimated processing time to 21 months, that means newer applications are generally taking longer, but it doesn’t necessarily mean your case will take that long.
Since you passed medicals in October 2024, the next major stages are eligibility, criminality, and security checks. You may receive a request for additional documents (if needed) or a portal request (if approved) at any time.
To estimate your timeline, count from your AOR date (August 28, 2024):
• 11 months estimate: July 2025
• 21 months estimate: May 2026
Your application could be completed anywhere in this range, depending on workload and complexity.
You have to create another account to create express entry profile. It won't allow you to create with your current account.hi @Miss bee when you mentioned that i can create a new profile and apply for express entry, does this mean a new account? a new gckey login? asking cause i tried creating a new application for express entry using my existing gckey account and it is not allowing me to create a new express entry application because it was saying i already have an in progress application.
As of February 2025, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) estimates a processing time of approximately 37 days for issuing a new Permanent Resident (PR) card after the issuance of an electronic Confirmation of Permanent Residence (eCOPR). Given that your daughter received her eCOPR on February 14 and promptly updated her address on February 19, she should expect to receive her PR card around late March.Hello @missbee, thanks for all your support
What is the estimated timeline to receive PR card after eCOPR
My daughter; inland received her eCOPR on the 14th of February. On the 19th February, an update of her address was requested, which was sent immediately
When should we expect the card in the mail? Cos she is planning to travel soon and she does not have a visa
You are not required to inform IRCC about your son’s and wife’s new passports unless IRCC specifically requests updated passport information during the PR process. Since their current passports remain valid during the application process, it should not affect their PR application.Hi @Miss bee,
Our work permit extension has been approved till 2027 June. My sons passport will be expiring in September 2026. We will being applying for a new passport in June this year and should receive in the same month. We will use his new passport probably in June 2026, to extend his visitor visa in order to match our new work permit timeline of June 2027, if we do not receive PR by then.
My wife is also planning to apply for a new passport, even though her passport is only expiring in 2028, as she will not be going home for a while.
In these situations, must i inform IRCC of my son and wife, second passport? even though though we have not received PR yet and their current passports will be still valid during the process of the PR application?
Appreciate your feedback.
Given that your child’s study permit application, submitted in late November 2024, is still under processing, and they have now received an offer for an undergraduate program, you have a couple of options to consider:Hi @Miss bee-Thank you for always clarifying my queries. I need your expert advice once again.
I applied for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP) and a study permit for my child in the last week of November, but we have not received a response yet. Now, my child has received an offer for an undergraduate program and needs to apply for a post-secondary study permit.
Should I apply separately for his post-secondary study permit, or should I send a webform to IRCC with the university offer letter, referencing the existing BOWP application? Please advice.
