Was the e-certificate available before you emailed them the signed oath form after the oath?

My language and physical presence were completed on February 15th, before my background check, which was completed on March 5th. Since then, my prohibitions check has been in progress. I thought LPP should be cleared together, as I have seen for others.

My wife and I applied on Nov 20, 2024 and we had about 1010 days of physical presence. We had to move/immigrate to the US in Feb 2025 as my wife's employer transferred her.
Would this have an impact on our application? Or will they only consider the physical presence upto the date that the application was submitted?

By immigrate, do you mean as permanent residents (greencard holders)? If so, it might show you have no intention of living in Canada and just want the passport. But what do I know?

I am assuming you meant 1110, because you can’t even apply at 1010.
I don’t think there is any impact. You should be good, as you would need to take oath inside Canada and if your current home country doesn’t allow dual citizenship, then you are looking at a much bigger impact downstream.

We have been waiting for the LPP for more than a month now.

The physical presence days at the time of application are what are used and considered, but at the time of citizenship grant, you must also still meet the PP requirements. That means if you'd been there for 3 years straight, you could be gone up to 2 years and still meet the requirements. But let's say you'd lived there 2 years, away 2 years, there 1 year, then applied and left. Now you no longer meet the requirements and you'd have to move back and live another 2 years before you can apply again.

Test completed
Submitted fingerprints 19th Feb, mailed out on the 21st to my fingerprint agency.

Fingerprint agency received it on the 28th of Feb and express mail was delivered to IRCC Vancouver on the 3rd according to tracker!

Every time i send IRCC a webform or call them they say they haven't received it yet! I got this same response on the 17th as well as a webform reply!

i have sent them another webform with the electronic copy of the RCMP certificate that the agency sent me and the tracking details attached.

I called IRCC to ask if they had received my fingerprints. The agent told me “We haven’t received them yet, but we already have them.” This confused me a lot. I asked her what “received” meant, and she explained that biometrics are not complete emphasizing that “this is very common, it’s normal.”

So I asked if she could provide me with the date when they got my fingerprints. She gave me a date – the same day I went for fingerprinting, possibly because that was sent online not by post.

I asked if “haven’t received” meant “you have received the copy and it’s still in progress.” She said yes. I asked if I needed to do anything else, and she said no.

2 days later my BG was marked as completed, 21 calendar days after they had got the copy.

It’s possible that IRCC has its own understanding and/or standards for the term “receive” and telephone agents does not follow the applicant’s way of thinking. Have to ask them whether they had received the “copy” of fingerprints and request them to provide the date they received it.

I believe it's actually that while you must meet the physical presence of 1095-days-in-five requirement as of the day you file the application, after that, you must continue to meet the residency obligation required to maintain PR status (i.e. 730-in-five). I'm not 100% certain so I'll let someone else confirm (or maybe get around to looking it up later).

(You have to stay a PR and respect other obligations of PR status too)

Gotcha. That could be, but either way, you can't just qualify and then peace out, if processing takes a long time.

Anyone from Toronto or other places who has had LPP cleared, knows if their LPP office was Vancouver?

Do you know if Vancouver office for LPP indicates non-routine application and could cause significant delays? i.e. trouble?

Do you know anyone else who got routinely assigned to the Vancouver office for LPP and cleared this step successfully?

I personally do not know exactly, but I do know two things:

1- So far, I have not seen a single applicant get a fingerprint request letter that wasn’t from Vancouver.

2- According to the call Center agent, my application is non-routine because I got a FP request. (Although another call Center agent said my application looks pretty normal right after he acknowledged my FP request).

so in summary, it’s all confusing.
