Still waiting for copr ... p2 31st october ...I had a quick question and would appreciate your help. My visa is expiring on 11feb 2025 , by when can the work permit request be filed ... today or tomorrow as well .
Also, those with LMIA renewal , did you have LMIA filed and then the work permit ,just after that without waiting for approval. Would appreciate your inputs.

First, call IRCC and explain that you have been waiting for your eCOPR for over 90 days. Ask if they can take any action or add a note to your file, and also request your Visa Officer (VO) to look into it.

One individual who had been waiting 95 days for their eCOPR called IRCC, and the agent placed them on hold for 10 minutes. Shortly after, they received their eCOPR via email within 5–10 minutes.

Regarding your BOWP, it is recommended to apply 2–3 days before your current work permit (WP) expires. If, even after calling IRCC, you do not receive your eCOPR by the evening, I strongly recommend applying for your BOWP immediately. Do not wait until tomorrow unless you are not currently working and do not plan to work until you receive your eCOPR.

Is your VISA expiring, or your current WORK PERMIT?

If your Work Permit is expiring, better to submit the application for BOWP (or closed WP, if that is how you are doing it) today (10 Feb) to avoid any confusion about when the expiry date is (12:00:00 AM on 11 Feb - start of the day, or 11:59:59 PM on 11 Feb - end of the day). This will give you maintained status until they reply (hopefully you will have eCOPR before then, and can withdraw the WP application).

Also, you should note that IRCC uses UTC time, which is currently 5 hours ahead of EST. For this reason, it is best to submit before 7PM EST (which is midnight UTC).

If you miss the deadline to submit the application you will have to apply and pay to restore status, as well as submit the application for the WP. Avoid this stress by submitting the application today.

I don't have experience with LMIA renewal, as my WP was LMIA-exempt.

Note that IRCC uses the UTC time zone for issuing all documents, not EST. If you submit your application after 7 PM EST today, your confirmation of submission will be generated with tomorrow’s date. I suggest having all your documents ready and waiting until 5:30 PM today. If you do not receive your eCOPR by then, submit your BOWP before 6 PM to be safe.

nothing to worry about if your primary VO is Etobicoke then your secondary VO is probably Montreal at least this was the case with me and then later on my ECOPR was issued by Montreal office.

For me it was 4 months and 1 day from AOR to P1, meaning you are almost there!
