Hello All,
We were family of 5 persons: Dad, Mom, Two brother and a sister. Three of us (me, my brother, sister and our complete family with kids) have permanent resident of Canada. Our family lost our father a year ago and now our mom is staying together in Canada with us. Can anyone advise me the way to apply PR on humanitarian ground for my mother as we all family member and our kids are in Canada have PR except my mom.

Thank You

I want to know too if my father js qualify for Humanitarian/compassionate PR because my mom just died and my dad will be alone in the Philippines and know one will look after him as my siblings work abroad too. He is so depressed dor losing my mom. Married for 46 yrs.

He needs to be in Canada to try to apply for PR under H&C. Anyone can apply however this doesn't mean approval. The fact you have siblings in other countries will reduce the chances of approval.

I assume you are either a PR or citizen of Canada.

Canada has a parent sponsorship and a longterm visit visa programs for parents. Applying for H&C comes with huge risks because if denied your father may not be able to even visit Canada. Many people are using H&C to try to sponsor their parents but at the same time IRCC is trying to cut H&C numbers and will likely have to reform H&C program. People need to be aware of the risks they are taking and also have to plan for the future for their parents abroad.
