Hi there
Does anyone have any experience on getting approved for a mortgage while your spouse is abroad waiting for the PR?
Getting mortgage on our double income would help us tremendously but I don't know if my spouse who is currently working abroad while waiting for PR would be eligible to get mortgage approved. We are in the process of sponsoring via outland spousal sponsorship.

If anyone has any experience or can point towards the right direction where I can learn more about this topic that would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

What did your bank say ?

Foreign spouses can often qualify for a mortgage, but eligibility depends on factors like residency status, credit history, and income stability. Many lenders require a valid visa or green card. It's also helpful to have a U.S. credit score or a co-signer. Consulting with a mortgage broker experienced in international clients can provide tailored advice.

Spouse working as abroad won't count as double income. Talk to your bank, it is likely that your mortgage will be approved based on your credentials. Like the other commenter said, talk to your bank.
