how to split name on Indian passport ?

No waiting for someone’s reply. Recently Nobody shared anything related to name split on the forum.

fyi, No special document was required to split the name on Passport. The whole process was simple.
Docs submitted: 1. Hydro Bill ( Canada address)
2. Aadhar Card/Voter card with same address on old passport.
3. Passport (1st and last page)
4. Photo clicked at BLS centre
5. Photocopies at BLS centre.
6. Annexure E ( provided by BLS centre)
All copies were self attested.

& Here is my timeline,
22nd May - Regular passport renewal - Walk in BLS Montreal (appointment basis)
24th May - Application Sent to Ottawa Consulate
25th MAY - Under Process. File No. Generated
31st MAY- Application Granted on No verification basis
31st MAY - Print Initiated
03rd JUNE - Printed
04th JUNE- Passport Dispatched
06th JUNE- Passport Delivered to Ottawa Consulate
06th JUNE- Requested for delivery at home (Via call BLS service centre) paid- $42
10th JUNE- Passport sent to BLS Montreal Office
11th JUNE- Ready for collection ( Requested for delivery at home )
12nd JUNE- Passport ready for pickup at nearest Staple store( due to nobody at home for signature)
13rd JUNE- Passport collected

That’s the correct process and it’s fairly simple. Also, once u split your name on the passport, please don’t go about applying for a legal name change for updating your pr card.
I got my PR card updated in 2 weeks without a legal name change certificate.

I realized that a legal name change stays with you for a lifetime and becomes cumbersome sicne you have to declare it in every other document. All this when it’s not even a name

I explored options with KPMG and other lawyers to understand this better and as it turns out, a name split is not a legal name change! I hired a lawyer, explained the situation to them, they did there paperwork using references from the BLS website and applied for a name update on the PR card.
two weeks later, I recieved the updated PR by post.

Hi, I was wondering if I could do something similar. My situation is a bit different because I do have a first and last name, but my Malaysian passport doesn’t separate them into "Given Name" and "Surname" fields — it just lists everything under "Name." This is standard for all Malaysian passports.
As a result, both my PR application and SIN reflect my full name in the "Surname" field, with the "Given Name" field left empty. I can’t change how this appears in my passport since Malaysia doesn’t split names across separate fields. So essentially, IRCC placed both my given name and surname into the "Surname" field.
I agree with you — it’s frustrating how something as straightforward as a legal name can become so complicated. The spelling and order of my name are correct, and if anything, it’s IRCC that altered how it’s displayed. I’ve always legally used my name and surname.
I’d really prefer to have my name properly split without going through a formal name change. While my case is different from yours, I’d really appreciate any insight or suggestions you might have that could help.
