Too little and too late Roflmao. Canada’s going down New Zealand’s path. The general public doesn’t trust them with immigration or any other issue anymore. They’ve screwed immigration up tremendously. In New Zealand, even after their leader, Jacinda Ardern resigned, the Labour Party got trashed in the elections. The conservatives in Canada don’t even have to release an election platform anymore, they’re cruising in the polls. The liberals are in panic mode and they’re going to turf international students who are in Canada solely for the sake of PR, first. Then, I expect them to remove the PGWP eligibility for majority of the programs and colleges in Canada. The huge temporary migrant population in Canada will have two choices, to either go back or to live in Canada as undocumented workers. Living in Canada as an undocumented worker means that you basically get zero social services and you’re not able to work legally. No matter how much these people protest, don’t think the liberals will ever give them free PR.
They will probably try to cross the border and live as illegal immigrants in the US. That's probably better than having to return to Punjab

It’s hilarious seeing the Liberals pivoting on immigration when they’re getting destroyed in polls. A year ago, they were accusing people, who were questioning the immigration numbers and the international student program, as “racist” and now, the entire public has caught on to their scam and have turned on them.
Aren’t we getting the 3 year immigration plan next month? Excited to see what they are planning now lol

They have no direction - they are just saying whatever they can, doing whatever they can to get votes. Bad governance.
They basically ended the carbon tax for heating. Ending it for heating oil, which is worse for environment than gas and only Atlantic Canada uses, will be seen by any court as political and only to get votes. Provinces saying they will stop collecting tax on gas heating. It will definitely go to court.

Hoe many days does it usually take from Background check to PPR on an average for Sydney, NS VO?
Background check can end as less as one day for a few, usually it takes a month or two for most, it can become complicated for some also. Remember Criminality, Info sharing and Security are 3 components of BG. of those security is usually the one which often takes the longest, some e.g. me the VO didn't start security for almost 6 months. For others (either based on heir country of origin being risky, frequent visits to such countries or person's name in Interpol or other watchlist etc.. the security becomes comprehensive can take forever, minimum 6 months or it has taken even 2 years also.
On approval even after background check finishes there is no assurance of fast approvals in offices like RROC, it can still take a month (mostly), 2-3 months often, 4-6 months for a few if they are within normal processing. Good luck to you.

Unfortunately, we Indians, are already begging the government of Canada, on twitter of all places, to extend PGWPs. I can understand the frustration of these students and temporary migrants but resorting to begging on the internet? Instead of taking actions to improve their chances, they beg. It’s pathetic. This is the image we portray to the world and we wonder why we’re treated like crap in a lot of countries. I’ve experienced this in the Gulf, where we Indians, are viewed as slaves and beggars. How do we except any country to respect our people when we have zero self respect? I’m ashamed of their actions.

These students are shameful man. No self respect, don't know what kind of families these people come from.

I would request others to counter this extension of PGWP movement and bring back CEC movement on twitter/X. This should be a fair system. If they have worked in Canada they are already getting points for it and are in the pool. Canada needs skilled people and not these students who are buying LMIAs

i wonder how many students would come if they got rid of PGWP for colleges, or made it one year only.
That is the intention of the liberals. Instead of putting a blanket cap, miller wants to crack down on the diploma mills and private colleges. By doing this, you weed out all the crap and it will lead to a natural reduction in the people who are using the study route for the sole purpose of gaining a backdoor entry into Canada. He also specifically mentioned that it’s the responsibility of provinces to crack down on these colleges and if they don’t do it, he will. Lol. I expect a lot of the colleges to completely shutter in the next few years. They’re going to review the PGWP and make changes. I’m expecting them to give PGWP to only those programs tied to the categories. So healthcare programs, construction programs and STEM ones. We’ll know in the coming months. With the liberals, it’s hard to say.

I wonder what it would be like to be a liberal supporter right now, when the party they supported is taking a 180 degree flip on almost everything they said a year or before.

Miller was waffling on the topic of PGWP extensions too and said he won't commit to anything yet, maybe no extensions anymore. I doubt that the movement will have any impact at all on the decision over PGWP. Last year, a lot of MPs were advocating for PGWP extensions by this time of the year which eventually lead to another extension. That's not the case this year.
