Hello friends,
looking for help..... I and my husband had applied for the Canada visa in 2021 and after 2 years we got the letter to submit our passports to the Abu Dhabi Embassy for stamping. But as my passport had been delayed for renewal at the Indian Embassy, we could only submit my husbands passport and he got his visa stamped. After i got back my passport I re-applied for my Canada visa and this time it got rejected and it mentioned Refusal Grounds: A16(1)(a). Both the times i had applied through House of Tours, UAE. i dont understand 'why it got rejected and now what next ???

I am not sure, but it looks like since you hadn't produced your Passport when they asked for it, they are refusing your application, below is the explanation for A16

Obligation — answer truthfully

  • 16 (1) A person who makes an application must answer truthfully all questions put to them for the purpose of the examination and must produce a visa and all relevant evidence and documents that the officer reasonably requires.

That refusal means you submitted information that was untruthful. Talk to your agent who applied on your behalf to find out what they submitted on your behalf.

hello, new development on my application issue. I checked with the agent House of Tours who had applied for my visa and it turns out they had mentioned NO for background information 2b and 2c - i think the answer should have been Yes since we did apply previously to enter Canada and visa was granted but i could not get the same stamped within the 1 month period since my passport was held up for renewal. Anyways, we had asked for a reconsideration and now, yesterday we received a mail that says

I am not satisfied that you have truthfully answered all questions asked of you"- for my application

and for my husband who's Canada visa is already stamped on his passport in April 2023
I am not satisfied that you have truthfully answered all questions asked of you.
Your previously issued visa has been cancelled and is not valid for travel to Canada.

Have any of you had these issues... Have no idea what went wrong, Why has my husbands visa been cancelled.

So you did not answer your questions truthfully, and your visa was refused and your husband’s cancelled once they figured out your misrepresentation and you applied together. His cancellation may be due after asking for reconsideration. Reconsideration is only if there is an error in law, and there was not since your didn’t answer the questions truthfully. Now because you and your husband applied together, IRCC has cancelled his because you were untruthful. What does the letter say to do? Is it a 5 year ban? Or can you reapply but when you do not misrepresent yourself and see if you are lucky and be approved.

There was misrerepsentation in your applications since all questions were not answered truthfully. This is why the visas have been refused and cancelled. IRCC has not accepted your reconsideration request.

You can reapply provided you were not issued the five year misrepresentation ban.

Did you declare your agent in the application using the representative form?

A16 is being used by IRCC a lot for undeclared agents.

Yes, correct.

OP, apply for GCMS and look for the officer notes and check if "Hidden Agent" words are there.
