Has eligibility even started? Where did you apply from and when? You aren’t going to make it given background is not completed; you still need to have eligibility completed and you still need to get your passport stamped if approved.Did apply for a conference (visit visa) which is due in two weeks time.
Going through my status tracker, it's updating biometrics completed and now doing back ground verification.
Just worried as the days are drawing close.
Please advise.
Eligibility not yet reviewed, what else can one do to meet the timeIrcc got my documents on 31 August 2023, did biometrics on 5th August 2023.
Nothing. IRCC doesn’t expedite or care when your conference is. Eligibility review usually takes the longest. You are most likely not making the conference, but your application will still be processed. Where are you applying from?Eligibility not yet reviewed, what else can one do to meet the time
Processing from Malawi is 295 days so you waited too late to apply. Nothing you can do.I'm applying from Malawi, Africa.
But I have done all I could in terms of documents for my eligibility unless you advise
Processing times are a guide but expect 295 days unless you have valid US or Canadian visas. If your application hasn’t even started eligibility then that can take months. All you can do is wait. Next time if you want to attend a conference then look at processing times and plan accordingly. It can still be processed if conference has passed and you showed strong ties, funds, travel history etc.I just wished I don't miss this event, very important to my company. I don't know.
