Missed to collect work permit

Hi, i landed Canada yesterday, i had connecting flight Montreal to Toronto.

When i reached montréal i followed what the officials said, went to the terminal which was arrivecan i believe i got the slip and submitted that slip to an official.

I followed the connections path and took the flight which was for Toronto, i was not aware that i had to collect my permit from Montreal. When i reached Toronto i collected my baggage came out directly. I went to border service and informed about my situation. They advised me to Call IRCC

So you just entered as a visitor, and didn’t go to immigration to activate your work permit? What type of permit and have you ever worked on the permit? You need to call IRCC but you may need to flagpole at a land border to get your work permit. You cannot work until then.

My visa is open work visa, i am new in Canada never worked here before.

Go to a land border near you. Some CBSA borders only process so many work permits per day so you need to go early and call ahead. https://offtracktravel.ca/flagpoling-activate-new-work-permit-canada/
