Does anyone know how to rent a car in Iceland? I thought it was a part of the UK, but it turned out to be a separate country. So that means that it has its own driving rules?

Bookinglane worked great for me. The check-in was quick, and the car was reliable for all kinds of terrain. If you're landing late or have a lot of luggage, their shuttle makes airport transfer easy. Just remember to check their fuel policy and return times so there are no surprises. I also recommend getting a 4x4 if you're planning to explore beyond the main roads, especially in winter.

You and the above posters should take some geography lessons. Iceland is not in North America.

Yes — Iceland is its own country, and while renting a car is easy there, just be sure to follow Iceland’s specific driving rules and requirements (like gravel road limits and mandatory headlights).
