I would definitely not go with a student visa. Get a visitor visa.

If you get a student visa and then try to enter the US with no plan to actually remain and study there, that could create all sorts of issues in entering the US and result in you being denied entry into the US / being deemed inadmissible. I'd recommend not playing games when it comes to immigration.
