Hello everyone,

My CRS score is 472 and my work permit is expiring in Feb 2024. My 2 years of work experience will be completed in September 2023. Do you guys think I got a chance for getting an invitation for PR?

How much will your score increase in September 2023? What will your CRS be then?

My score in September 2023 will be 483 after the increase.

This won't guarantee that you will be selected for PR. I would recommend you try to increase your points. Make sure your IELTS test results are maxed. Consider learning / taking the French language test. If you don't have the points already, see if you can get a job offer (and approved LMIA) so that you can claim job offer points.

Ohh okay. Thank you for the suggestions. Also do you think the government can extend my work permit if I apply for that? I am hoping if government may extend like they did for work permits expiring in 2023.

If you get ITA (i.e. are selected out of the EE pool) and submit your complete application and get AOR before your work permit expires, then you can apply for a bridging open work permit.

Ohh I got it. Do we have to leave the country if my work permit expires and I don't get an invitation till then? Like I haven't seen any doing that so.

If you want to stay in Canada and don't qualify to extend your work permit, then you would have to apply to change your status to visitor. If you do this, you can remain in Canada but you will need to stop working as soon as your work permit expires.
