Do you guys think there will be "general draws" this year? As someone who just entered the pool and whose NOC is not on the category-based list, I am indeed really concerned. I just scored 501, had high hope before today...

We will have to wait and watch unfortunately.

They've not said anything about pausing general draws. The C-19 and M44 docs (shared on the forums multiple times) stated that the general draws would resume for 2023 (not mention about 2024). So, that's the best we know right now. 501 is competitive even if CRS goes up with category specific draws(reduction in general EE ITAs).

Per IRCC (Express Entry rounds of invitations - Canada.ca), three types of rounds of invitations will be held throughout the year. Depending on which stream is deemed appropriate based on the annual quota IRCC has. I think 501 might still be a reasonable CRS score to sit in the general pool, but things might change drastically if targeted draws pick up more applicants with lower scores (vice versa).

Thanks a lot. Yeah, I did feel the same that the targeted group gets prioritized, then the cutoff of the general pool can be very tricky.

Canada's first priority in next few years is to raise the number of francophones in the country, or atleast reach the 4.4% of francophones in each province, that's why I see more and more North Africans immigrate to Canada, I think that in the next few years the bulk of the immigrants in Canada will be from the Maghreb, as they speak both French and English and have high level of educations.

As per the latest changes -> To be eligible, you must have accumulated, within the past 3 years, at least 6 months of continuous work experience (in Canada or abroad) in a single occupation listed in the table below PAST 3 YEARS FROM WHEN? ITA? AOR? PROFILE CREATION?

and what happens to this rule - At minimum, you need at least one year of skilled work experience within the past 10 years. The work experience you use to qualify you for the program, your previous work experience has to match your primary occupation in your immigration application.

Hello folks! Have a general question regarding proof of funds at landing and hoping to get some answers. I'll be moving to Canada in a few weeks (FSW - O) and I have my proof of funds intact from when I applied and had my application approved. However, over the last few months, my home country currency has gone through major fluctuations resulting in the amount I showed in my local currency no longer being close to the amount in CAD I said I would bring.

Now I do have more money in my account to cover the current exchange rate; however, I need some of it to purchase my tickets, etc. I wanted to know when (and if) you're asked to show proof of funds upon landing, does it need to match the current exchange rate? I'll obviously bring along recent bank statements along with an exchange rate list from the bank as well as the original bank letter from when I applied but I'm wondering if the amount needs to be the same as when I applied or if it's off by CAD 1-2k because of the fluctuations, that won't be an issue.

(I do plan on converting some money into CAD before leaving and taking it as cash whereas the rest I'll have access to from my home country bank account.)

This shouldn't be an issue at all. It is reasonable to expect that you would have spent part of your PoF on your trip and relocation.

I'm doing well now and so was I when I had the medical exam.

Should I have answered Yes ?

Should I raise a web form and explain or no need ?

As per tracker:
My profile : Bio-Medical-Eligibility-Background = all completed (11th May)
Dependent profile : Bio-Medical-Background = all completed (11th May)
But for Eligibility = not started

Why ircc is taking so much time for my dependent's eligibility?
How many days do I need to wait to receive PPR because it’s almost 20 days after my profile shows ‘all completed’ status on tracker.
