Canada has lifted the previous restriction to enter the country no more than 28 days prior to the beginning of the study program. So, in theory, yes, you could enter Canada a few months or weeks before September 2023. However, in reality, entering too early may pose additional questions at the boarder as to your financial means and plans to stay in Canada during that additional time. Remember, it is the boarder officer who makes a final decision about your entry and issues you your SP + OWP.

We'll mark our 12 weeks tomorrow. Six more weeks and I will get really desperate as we'll hit our own record of last year. Until then, however, 18 weeks remains our benchmark. I guess, we can only start thinking of contacting the IRCC through a webform, MP or a lawyer once we exceed the processing time of our previous application. The IRCC can always "say" (figuratively speaking) that that is our real processing time despite our dreams and expectation.
On April 14th, we initiated a webform, but there has been no update. Following that, another webform was generated by attaching the new offer letter; nevertheless, there was no update. I have just requested that agency to raise one more. Last year, few students whose applications were in processing state even after 6 months tried the MP route and were successful. We are unable to find out how to get in touch with our MP. The decision dates for our two most recent applications were 45 and 30 days respectively. However, I would personally encourage you to do everything and anything you feel like doing to try and get some answers from the IRCC. By all means, do start with the webform and MP if you can reach one. In my opinion, it will not help, but it will definitely not hurt either. And as I said, I'll do the same beyond 18 weeks. Until then, I'll stick to waiting
We had simply given up hope. She quit her job in early September to pursue the course online. After receiving a visa refusal, she opted to wait for the visa for the May intake and not take a job to prevent a short-term job stinct. We are now in a quandary because we have been postponed to another intake. She now has a career gap, which will have an impact if she is looking for work right now. We're stuck. She is so done mentally and emotionally.Yes, that sounds about right with regards to webforms. They take as long as the decision itself. With MPs it is not a guarantee as well since there is no way of telling precisely whether those students really gained some help from their MP or their applications would have been finalized around that time anyway. But then again, when I'm desperate enough, I might exercise all available options as well. Right now I'm just depressed, not desperate yet.
She is in India right now. If she travels to Canada, she will be able to continue working in India. However, managing the time will be difficult. As a result, it is evident that it will not work. Furthermore, due of cross-border tax considerations, most organisations will not favour someone working from a foreign country. She is now doing nothing to address the professional gap; however, if the application is rejected, the career gap will become an issue. If she accepts a job and is able to overcome the visa issue, the employment will be temporary, and there will be penalties if she leaves the work during the trial period. All of these are scenarios that we encounter on a regular basis and believe that everything will be OK. We genuinely wanted to battle this till the bitter end, but as time passes, it's causing anxiety issues.I can totally understand your family's feelings @archanajossy! I really do because we are facing a risk of losing my admission to my dream university and, by the way, the most honest and genuine study plan of all possible (which I've been waiting to realize for many years) in case we do not get an approval this time and get it on time. We have already accepted the fact that in case of a refusal, our dream is crashed and there will be no more 18 weeks for us to prepare another application for September 2023.
However, we are trying to focus on one bright side only - hope that we will get an approval and we will get it on time. To more practical questions, where is your sister right now? I mean, in case she is back in her home country, does the rule of part-time work while on SP apply to her even there? By the way, students are allowed to work full-time in Canada now as per new law which will be in effect until December 2023. Also, with regards to a career gap, since she is really studying, I really hope and would think that that would only add to her resume in terms of skills, knowledge and abilities acquired. Try to use it to her advantage. Education cannot be a minus, that's for sure.

Wanted to find out if your application is is anyway linked to that of your husband like did you people use the same source of funds or did you mention you will be traveling with you husband if that is the case am sure that's why your application is taking so long.
