Just curious does anyone knows what's the main purpose of requesting finger prints ?

There's few reasons for FP requests :

Some applicants are randomly chosen for FP for quality assurance.

A name and date of birth similar to the name and date of birth of another citizenship applicant (especially if that person had a citizenship application that was refused). In these cases, fingerprints are used to distinguish you form other people with similar names and dates of birth.

A name and sometimes date of birth similar to someone with a criminal record.

Fingerprint request for 1 received today. Completed it in 2 hours. Not as fast as Anonyref who holds the record for fastest fingerprint submission

Fingerprint request for 1 received today. Completed it in 2 hours. Not as fast as Anonyref who holds the record for fastest fingerprint submission

LOOOOOOOOL my stellar record of 45 minutes but glad to hear most of the BG checks are done and that you submitted the FP so quickly! I’m still waiting for the receipt of the FP I sent

If the user got DM it would be absolutely BONKERS, that would be a processing time of not even 4 months

That’s like asking how long is a piece of string. Current processing times posted on their website is 23 months.

Yes correct, that’s the basis of the RCMP fingerprint criminal check usually so you’re good
