Man I feel really depressed and sad.

My application has been completed on 22 of February and curently awaiting Oath (not started) just a ghost update on March 2nd.

I called the IRCC phone line 13 days ago and was answered by a very demeaning and scolding agent who said that just to check the email and I am within the processing period.

I waited 13 days and called again, and this time the same agent answered, and she goes like when was the last time you called, what was the answer then? it is the same answer now! and then went on a lecture on how my process is, the lecture was another 10 minutes.

I explained to her, that I understand, and I am just anxious and can't wait for the new phase of my life. She really brought me down, she made me feel... I do not know how to describe that, she was very vindictive.

Not all agents are like that, most are amazing, uplifting. Just my luck that in 12 days period I spoke with the same agent.

She reminded me of the country I fled from, the phone ended and I was blank for 30 minutes.

I hope these agents know how important this step for us. This agent must have known, she sounded like an immigrant, so I am sure she can connect with me, but these two times she did not.

Currently trying to uplift my mood and energy, my toddler will wake up soon and I want to be fun dad around her.
With all due respect, calling CIC about two weeks (correct me if I'm wrong) after your application was completed to ask about your oath invite, then calling again two weeks later sounds like abusing the limited resources we all have at our disposal. I acknowledge your feelings, and I'm sure the agent you talked to could have been more tactful, but if everyone did what you've done, there wouldn't be enough capacity to help those that do need to call CIC. Let's all be more mindful of the general picture.

It’s true. But if the agents could release something useful at the first call, nobody would want to keep on calling. I don’t know why they not willing to provide some useful information, the only thing they say is ask you to wait wait wait but not saying what caused the stuck, that’s the frustrating part.

If only we have been told by IRCC that the call agents cannot give you any extra information. Even before the pandemic, the processing standard was 12 months. If they applied in May 2022 then it's still 10 months in.

Either different agents have different clearance level/authority to view and share the information or its individual personality of the agent, you get different responses. Some are willing to share more details and some as not interested at all.
In our case, we had our background done 4 months ago and when we called 2 months ago, agent said your BG is still in progress and LPP not started.
I told them that I could see BG done already and then they said they dont know but they see BG in progress at their end.

But at the end, they do what they are trained to do like all of us. For them we are just a specific case and nothing more.

In this specific case, the waiting times are so short that calling is completely unjustified. We also have access to the excel sheets that admins here put together with tons of cases to check usual and less usual timelines. The "I'm stressed so I'll call" situation reminds me of the beginning of the pandemic: authorities had to ask the population to stop calling the emergency services for no reason so that those lines would be available for real emergencies. I'm sure people died due to some of those unjustified calls.

I don’t call but I kind of understand why people can’t help calling. Cuz of the inconsistency. They should at least give out some possible reasons that why some simple cases takes longer, why some submitted earlier but get update later. Be more transparent, so people won’t get annoyed seeing those later cases completed earlier.

let people do what they want to. If your argument is that people can be more patient, my argument is that IRCC can be more transparent. It goes both ways.

IRCC transparently posted the processing times and told people not to call just to ask for updates because the call agents cant give any more information than what's found in the tracker.
It’s not about if it’s within 12 months. If all the completed cases are submitted earlier than mine, I can be very patient, cuz I know I’m still in the line so I can wait. But when your case got stuck for months without any update while you see a lot of later cases getting completed, you will be wondering why? What’s wrong? But apparently they don’t want to give you the answer, and that’s the point at which people start losing their patience. There’s nothing to do with how many months it should take, it’s about consistency and fairness, and thats why I say they need to be more transparent.
