soooooo.....my step son has misplaced his passport and after days of searching has turned up empty handed. He is in Jamaica, they will report it as lost and we will have to get a new one. Do they keep the same information such as passport # etc? Would I just use a webform to update the new passport details if it has changed and can he use the new passport for biometrics? He was able to show a photocopy in order to do his medical and I'm not sure he can do the same with biometrics until he gets the new one. Thankfully passports can be obtained in a few days there. Anyone had any similar experience?

Yes use webform. One thing I learned about JM government services are they never deliver in the times they advertise. My wife had to renew her passport and it took them a month back in June 2022. That was even after we paid for the faster service. The same thing happened with our marriage certificate. We paid for the 3 day service and it took the Register General 3 weeks!

We haven’t had past issues with the 3 day turnaround on passport in Jamaica. For replacement it seems we can do it same day, the only problem is we have to have a parent report it lost and they do a report that we need in order to replace it. We are going down soon, so hoping we can get it solved easily and quickly. Getting a quick turnaround on the medical, was another story, we had to wait 3 weeks before getting an appointment for the kids. Hoping biometrics is quicker in Kingston.
