PGWP Refusal - What to do next

Hello guys,

I am also concerned regarding my eligibility for a PGWP. I'll graduate next year in 2023. Throughout my studies I have maintained full time status other then the regularly scheduled breaks in summer. However, in my first semester, I was struggling academically and I dropped out from a course and I became part time for the remainder of that semester. It was a summer semester so I thought it would be okay to become part time.

I have recently come to know that if my first semester is in summer, then that semester does not count as a regularly scheduled break. Therefore, I am wondering if I apply for a PGWP will it likely get refused even if I provide adequate explanation. Also, I'm wondering if my explanation will be considered valid.

So, do I just apply for a PGWP after my studies or get enrolled in another study program and apply for a PGWP then?

Your opinions will be highly appreciated. Thanks.

When you apply for a PGWP reconsideration via web form after a refusal, does it usually take a month?
I read a lot of peoples stories on here and most of you seem to get your PGWP reconsidered after a month.
Please is this generally true? Someone please confirm

First goverment officer do not know the first summer you need to be Full time, you can submit you full time letter every regular term Fall/Winter, if they ask you send additional proof for first term then explain. All PGWP very depend on which officer read you documents. Some officer they don't care then they let part time student got PGWP. My suggerstion is do not talking too much, if you explain too much and your officer is not kind, they can refused you application. Or you can try to apply 8 months or 12 months Masters or College continute study, then you can use new transcript to apply PGWP, and you will get 3 years PGWP

I’m so sorry to hear. How did you know it was refused? Did they email you back to tell you? And how long did it take before they refused your reconsideration?
It took them a good 5 - 6 months if I remember correctly.

So you explained that to him and wrote a reconsideration and in 2 weeks your application changed from refused to approved?

HI! I am an international student that graduated in June and applied for my PGWP in end of July, I dont have y official transcript yet due to incomplete fees and they sent backa request form letter asking for educational transcript

I originally applied with an offical letter from the school proving I have complete my studies and a letter of explanation

What are the chances of getting denied

Well I went to the Abbotsford Sumas border. I made sure to call them and ask whether I could flagpole. They said yes. So i went there, i didn't have a valid TRV nor US visa. I made sure to be double vaccinated though as that was the requirement. Once at the border on the US side i just told them i'm here to flagpole. They took me inside and did the paperwork then sent me back to the canada border where the rest was done. Took 3 hours total I'll say.
Hi,
So for flagpole, all you documents were expired? Your study permit and TRV as well?.
