May you please let me know why its better ? And did you use it to apply for a visit visa ?

My understanding is its faster processing time and you don't need to download any forms unlike in GCKey you have to. Its your choice at the end.

Applications are being processed faster... that is what I understood.

I applied visitor visa for my parents-in-law. Took 13 days for final decision.

Dec 04, 2022: Submitted application online.
Dec 08, 2022: Provided biometrics.
Dec 17, 2022: Received the final decision.
Dec 29, 2022: Got the visa stamped on passport.

I applied through IRCC portal (portal-portail.apps.cic.gc.ca). Forgot to mention an important point - they both have US visitor visa.

I was also wondering , did you upload a digital photo ? Or no need,, as previously on GCkey they asked for a digital photo with info on the back now i dont see this info ,,

I applied from India. I thought because they already have US visitor visa, the application was processed much faster than usual.

Applied TRV for my father and aunt with separate online (IRCC portal) applications.
They both have valid US visitor visas
Biometrics not required as they have already visited Canada earlier on TRVs

Timeline: Applied 14th Dec 2022
Application Status: Processing

No updates since then!

It happened to many applicants in November and December I think. I also applied for my family from Malaysia having Pakistani passports. Recvd visas approvals on 14th working day

Do they say if visa is approved in the passport request letter?
Received passport request letter and it says final decision made but doesn't say what the decision is.
Application status still says processing and submitted. I'm confused now.
They would not request for passport unless it's approved, right?

yes, if you received Passport request letter mean your application is approved 99%, unless there is any issue with the passport submitted. Could you please share your timeline and visa details?
