I got accepted to Medical School in Toronto and I got my study visa but I was wondering in the 4 years of my studies will I be able to get a PR card? After Medical School I have to apply to the Canadian Match and I need to be a Canadian citizen or a PR card holder to apply, without it I won’t be able to work.

None of us here can answer your question. It depends if you meet the requirements of one of Canada's immigration programs. Being in medical school does not give you an automatic path to PR. To qualify for PR, you must typically have at least one year of full time paid skilled work experience. Information about Canada's immigration programs are in the link below. You'll need to research the programs to see what it takes to qualify. I would recommend you start by researching the Express Entry program.

You really need to become a PR in your 3rd year of med school because many schools won't want to rank you or give you an interview if you are an international student. Don't think there are many international medical student who are planning on trying to match in Canada except some going through the spousal sponsorship.

Yeah i won’t be able to apply except if i’m a PR or a citizen, that’s why i’m worried.

No. Have you looked at the various immigration programs?
No, i have not yet. I lived in Canada for 4 years when i was in elementary school, i know that doesn’t matter though. I did read however that the minimum requirement is to be physically present in Canada for a minimum of 730 days within the past five years.

Who is “your family?” Are you applying to immigrate with your spouse and children?

So to be eligible to immigrate, you need to be eligible and then invited with a high enough score through Express Entry. You cannot practice in Canada so research Medical Council of Canada to see if your program is even assessed. Assessment doesn’t allow you to practice as you still must meet MCC requirements. Many IMEs never practice once they immigrate to Canada.

How old are your parents? Are they sure they qualify to immigrate? If over 40 it is much harder to immigrate to Canada. How old will you be when they apply to immigrate to Canada. You must be under 22. No there will be no way for you to transfer into a Canadian medical school. First of all Canadian medical school is a second entry program with most having at least one degree before getting accepted but the curriculums are pretty specific and there is not likely any extra spots available unless someone has had to drop out.

You should also be aware the getting a residency program in Canada will be very difficult although easier if you want to be a GP, pathologist, work in public health or psychiatry. All the Canadian graduates match to residencies first and then all the interested IMGs match after that but there are very few residency spots left and a lot of demand and the least preferred residencies and locations are usually left plus many require you to be fluent in French.

Your only option is to start from scratch in Canada and try to get into a Canadian medical school or finish your schooling while still meeting your PR residency obligation if your parents get selected for immigration before you are 22. Many who go to medical school abroad, including Canadians, end up doing residencies in the US. You won’t be close to meeting your RO in that case and there are never any guarantees of getting a residency spot in the US and being able to come back in Canada. Some of our graduating specialists can’t find full-time jobs in our health system and that is purely for budget reasons and because senior doctors don’t want to retire. Lots to consider but in general you’ll face a lot of obstacles.

Thank you soo much for explaining the whole scenario.
Yes my parents are sure that they are gonna qualify the immigration procedure.I am 20 years old right now.
Can you please let me know that isn't there any single option for me to transfer my studies over there in Canada from here where I am currently studying.
I've successfully completed 2 years of my Medical education right now I am in 3rd year. The Institute/University I am studying in right now is also accredited from th World Directory of Medical Schools.
I just don't wanna waste my time which I've consumed over here studying medicine.
So please just let me know if there is any possibility in any of the Medical schools in Canada where I can continue my studies by giving some sort eligibility exam etc.
Regards

How do they know they qualify for immigration? Assume they have completed ECA and IELTS. What is their CRS score.

You have to contact medical schools in Canada and find out admission requirements. Find out if they even accept credit transfers. It is highly competitive. No one can tell you.
