Usually they issue you the pre-arrival right after the interview, that exactly happened with me. I have gotten mine right after the interview.
Has he said that I’m satisfied with your application?

Hello all.

I found this thread and thought it to be very helpful for my understanding of post interview steps.
To give you some perspective. I am sponsoring my wife (Outland application Quebec)

Here is my timeline (The underlined part refers to Quebec steps. all others are Federal, exactly where I am now):

  • Interview: 2022-10-11
My wife did the interview today.
There were 2 officers. One lady that wrote everything down. Another lady that was checking a paper, while my wife was answering the questions.
At the end of interview, my wife asked them about the next steps, to which they replied:

We have all information we need now and we will send it for further review. If we need additional information and/or documentation, we will ask you.|
My wife then asked how long it would take to have a final answer and they said they were not able to answer this question.

Based on your experiences, isn't it normal to give the approval right after the interview?
We were a little frustrated, I admit.

If answer does not come right after, how long does it normally take?

Thanks a lot everybody.

Hi Dear,
I’ve gone under this interview on May 31, 2022. I had also faced numerous questions and I have answered it very confidently. The officer first interrogated me and then my wife ( she was in Canada ).
But in my case eventually he told me that He is satisfied with all my questions and processing my application to the next step. May be you should wait for couple of days and you’ll see pre arrival. Hang in there….

All NDVO applicants are interviewed…
That’s not true. Only a percentage of applicants are interviewed. Who gets interviewed depends on the application. How much time you have together in person and whether there are any red flags (age difference, different religion, not having a traditional wedding ceremony, etc) are some of the things that impact whether you need an interview.
