Hello members

You can see my timeline in my signature. Its been 3 months since the test was marked completed. Everything else is in progress (even background check). Don't know what to do. Is there anyone going through similar situation ? Please your tips and suggestions are appreciated.

Regards
Was there a lot of travel in the last 3 years before you applied for citizenship?

No. I travelled once (outside Canada only for 2 months)
It’s very difficult to say why Scarborough office is taking so long to process the applications submitted before 2022. Scarborough office now processing 2022 applications within 4 to 6 months which is frustrating. It seems nothing we can do except waiting.

Also waiting since 4 months - wrote my test in mid May. Everything has been in progress since then. Equally frustrated about how there is no human to talk to at the scr office and how applicants that have applied for their citizenship this year are moving ahead of the queue. Tried contacting the office via email multiple times, but no response. Infact, I had a medical emergency in the family and needed to travel out and also sent medical docs requesting urgent processing, but nothing. Literally keep checking the status online everyday and every few hours in the hope to see some progress :(

Sorry to hear about the medical emergency. I can understand your situation very well. Atleast your background is completed. Here only test is completed.

I mean seriously there is no way I heard of through which anyone can get to know. Even there is a delay in ATIP/GCMS notes. Also the standard reply that processing takes 26 months, whereas in reality 90% applications are being processed within 12-18 months.

Had you tried contacting MP at the time of medical emergency? Sometimes office gets changed. I was sending emails to Mississauga office as email for test came from them. Later found that my file was transferred to Scarborough office probably because I initially lived in Scarborough.

The first background check request was in July 2020. And second one request was exactly 3 days before my interview. But just let you know, as soon as I received a new update for my interview, i didn’t wait for them . I applied to renew my fingerprint without their request. Because I knew So well my fingerprint has been expired snd should be renewed. As soon as update for an interview, I applied for fingerprint and rcmp sent the results to them. In during the interview, officer asked me, did u do you’d fingerprint? I told him , yes I have done and results will be sent you . He said ok good
