Hi,

I have received a job offer from a Canadian company. The position is for NOC A (Skilled worked Information technology consultant).

Am I eligible for an Open work permit? Please advise.

I come under this as I have Visitor visa. I heard I can directly go to POE to obtain the work permit
  • are a temporary resident permit holder, or

Does you document actually say Temporary Residence Permit?

A visitor visa is not a Temporary Residence Permit you are not eligable for OWP, your employer will need to apply and obtain a LMIA for you.

When I check my eligibility, it clearly states I am eligible for Open Work Permit+ Visitor visa. I need visitor visa because I need to go to POE to request for Work permit. My position is NOC A too.

Its say's Job needs to be NOC A (professional) and my title is Information technology consultant which comes under NOC A (Professional). Your suggestion would be helpful

Global Skills Strategy

The Global Skills Strategy is a new initiative to help bring highly-skilled workers and researchers to Canada. Through this strategy, you can have a work permit exemption for short-term work in Canada if you meet the eligibility for one of these categories:

Eligibility for high-skilled workers
• your job needs to be under the NOC skill type 0 (managerial) or A (professional)

Foreign Worker - International Mobility Program (visitor's visa required + no work permit)

When I checked my eligibility in official immigration, I got this. Please advise.

Highly-skilled workers
These workers must meet both of these requirements:
  • Their job is under skill type 0 (executive, managerial) or skill level A (professional) in the National Occupational Classification
  • They will only work for a short period of time:
    • up to 15 consecutive days, once every six months, or
    • up to 30 consecutive days, once every 12 months
You might have missed that bit about meeting both criteria for Global Skills Strategy as well as the duration of work permitted. .

Bold text or not still not exactly clear what you are asking given you keep throwing visitor visa into the mix. There are specific rules for applying for anything at the POE . It would help if you posted where the above text came from.

I am sorry for the confusion. Today I have talked to the attorney, they told to work with my company to initiate the global skill strategy program under category B to apply for Temp work permit

My letter of invitation says I am invited under the Global skills strategy as a visiting Researcher but the University gave me only invitation letter without employment letter.what can I do?

Have you started working?
Technically employment letter is issued when you start working with a firm.

First comes offer letter or invitation letter meaning the company has invited or offered you a job.
You accept it and then comes appointment letter or sometimes contract letter.
You start working with the company for a while and you can ask for a job reference letter.
Finally you stopped working with them and you are given experience letter.
