Hi all,

I received an ADR for a Schedule A and a Police Clearance Certificate (India) for my spouse. We need to submit it by October 10th 2022. Problem is, there are no appointments available for a PCC till November 3, 2022 in our area (Ghaziabad). It takes around a month from the appointment date to get the PCC in hand in our area. Instead of uploading the PCC, should I upload a letter of explanation with the appointment details?

I had already submitted one for her when adding her to my profile around March 2021, but I guess a new one is needed now.

Yes you can but keep your fingers crossed as I had seen somewhere on IRCC website that they may or may not accept that. But its worth giving a shot and simultaneously keep on trying to get it quickly if possible.

Do you have a source for this? There doesn't seem to be any other option for us as we need to use the PSK website to schedule an appointment for the Police Certificate. The next available one has now reached 11 November.

@legalfalcon Any thoughts here?

Write it to IRCC. Many have been in your situation and IRCC has allowed people to submit the PCC at a later date. But make sure you add the proof of your PCC appointment and explain in detail why you couldn't submit the PCC before the deadline.

Oh ok. It's not that we can't get a certificate at all, we just can't get one within the deadline of the request, so would have to request for an appropriate extension. Will upload a letter of explanation with the PSK appointment details as soon as possible so that we at least get more information.
Yes you got it. Isn't any quick service available for this in your area, do you want to try with walk-in, is that possible?

Could you look at other places apart from the current location for a PCC appointment? Do raise the webform directly to the VO informing the lack of appointments along with screenshots of an appointment booked at the next available date and proofs of lack of availability within the expected time frame. We did this for my spouse medical and received an email from NDVO that his medical request was extended.

An update on this: after religiously checking the PSK website every hour for a few days, we were able to reschedule our appointment for next week. More PCC appointment slots have opened up in our area now. I sent a bunch of emails to our RPO and External Ministry about the situation, so that may or may not have helped. :) I also took an appointment just in case IRCC asks me for a new PCC in the last moment.

Thanks to everyone for their advice!
