Visitor visa extended by a month. Now what?

Hi,

My mom came in August 2021 to visit (not a super visa holder). In February, we applied for an extension of her stay and got a positive reply yesterday.
She is now allowed to stay till September 14 2022 and IRCC requested a medical exam within a month.
Is this normal?
Are we allowed to request another extension now?
She's healthy and have insurance coverage, we just don't have anyone to help her back home (limited mobility).

Yes, this is normal. She needs to complete the medical.

I would 100% complete the medical first and then apply for the extension 2-3 weeks later. The first extension was approved on the condition she complete the medical. You don't want to be submitting a second extension without having the medical done for that reason.

You have time to do this. Get the medical done within the next few days. Apply for the extension the first week of September.
